Dr. Alves is a prosthodontist who specializes in complex dental cases. In addition to completing dental school, she pursued three additional years of advanced training in Prosthodontics and earned a Master’s Degree in an ADA-accredited graduate program. Essentially, prosthodontists are the recognized experts when anything needs to be replaced in your mouth. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums in the mouth. While many other dentists can do some of these treatments, prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care. Dr. Alves is highly trained in cosmetics, including whitening and veneers, fillings, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and temporomandibular disorders (TMJ/TMD). Additional treatments offered at FORMA include routine dental hygiene, deep cleanings, periodontal treatments, root canals, extractions, Invisalign and CT Scans.
“Every procedure – from wisdom teeth removal to a root canal – is performed by a highly-trained specialist,” Dr. Alves said. “Dentistry has changed tremendously over the years. Our experience and technology enable us to perform a root canal in around an hour, instead of several hours or even various appointments.”
Dr. Alves began practicing in Miami in 2011. She says she opened her own practice to provide high-quality, advanced dentistry to help people achieve and preserve a healthy mouth and beautiful smile. She says her philosophy is different than chain dentistry practices where “one doctor sees many patients a day, resembling a factory.”
