Ingredients

  • 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash nutmeg
  • 3 cinnamon sticks (3 inch)
  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • mandarin wedges
  • 1 whole cloves

Directions

  1. Hollow out 8 apples. Save the apple pieces for your Apple Stuffed Turkey. To Save: toss with lemon juice and freeze.
  2. Combine brown sugar, allspice, 1 teaspoon cloves, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and apple cider in large saucepan.
  3. Bring to boiling.
  4. Cover and simmer for 20min.
  5. Strain to remove spices.
  6. Serve in apple shells with clove-studded mandarin wedges.
